Hibi Help

On the Record screen (記録), tap Start recording (録音を開始). The first time you record, allow microphone access. You can pause, resume and add markers, then tap Save (保存) when you finish. Before recording a conversation with others, make sure they know and agree.

Choose a file from the audio import option on the Record screen (記録). You can select up to 20 files at once. Hibi saves copies one at a time and transcribes them on your iPhone. If you close the screen along the way, check the progress shown in the app and resume.

First check the recording date and the date range in Search. Archived conversations are under Settings → Organize records → Archive (設定 → 記録を整理 → アーカイブ). For Apple Watch recordings, also check the transfer status.

On your iPhone. Hibi automatically detects Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese, so you don't need to choose a language. It does not switch to cloud recognition. Results vary with audio quality, speech and background noise.

Check the processing status and instructions shown in the app, and retry if needed. Your iPhone may need more free storage, or the OS may need to prepare speech recognition data. Check permission status under Settings → Transcription and language (設定 → 文字起こしと言語) or Settings → Recording and Apple Watch (設定 → 録音とApple Watch). You don't need to delete the audio and start over.

Open a conversation to edit its transcript. If you save a word while correcting it, matching spellings can be checked in conversation details. Add, edit or delete saved spellings under Settings → Organize records → Saved words (設定 → 記録を整理 → 記憶した言葉).

In the Search tab (検索), enter a conversation name or words from a transcript. You can also filter by date range or project. Open a result to jump to the statement containing those words. Search this conversation (この会話で検索), in the conversation menu, lets you move between matches within that conversation.

Choose Select (選択) in Record (記録) to assign projects to several conversations or archive them. Rename or merge projects under Settings → Organize records → Manage projects (設定 → 記録を整理 → 案件を管理).

You can change an imported conversation's recording date and time from its menu. Long-press a statement to add a speaker name. This is a manual way to organize your records, rather than automatic speaker identification.

In conversation details, organize key points, decisions, open questions and suggested tasks. Review the task, assignee and deadline before adding it to Next steps (次の一歩). In Reflect → 1 week (振り返り → 1週間), look back at unfinished tasks and each day's conversations.

You can start a conversation by typing. Use it to look back on an event, sort through an idea or think about what to do next. Processing takes place on your iPhone. When a reply draws on your records, check it alongside the original statements it refers to.

Summaries and replies may contain errors, omissions or assumptions. Return to the referenced conversation or original audio to check what matters. These features are not intended to make important decisions based only on an answer.

You can use Hibi with just an iPhone. With an Apple Watch, record in Hibi on the watch and transfer completed audio to your paired iPhone. You can set up the watch later. The current development version targets iOS 18 or later; watch features target watchOS 11 or later.

Check the connection between your iPhone and watch, then open Hibi on your iPhone to see the transfer status. Refresh the connection status under Settings → Recording and Apple Watch (設定 → 録音とApple Watch). Audio stays on the watch until the iPhone confirms it has been saved.

When editing your watch face, add Hibi's Record a conversation (会話を記録) complication. Open the recording screen from the watch face, then start recording there. Tapping the complication alone does not start a recording.

Save a ZIP from Settings → Backup and restore → Export backup (設定 → バックアップと復元 → バックアップを書き出す). It includes recordings, transcripts, bookmarks, notes, next steps and saved AI reflections. You choose where to save it. The ZIP itself has no additional encryption, so choose a location appropriate for its contents.

Review the contents with Choose a backup (バックアップを選ぶ), then restore with Add these contents (この内容を追加). Existing records are kept, and the backup is added. If conversations or notes overlap, the contents on your iPhone take priority. For important records, it is also a good idea to make a backup before proceeding.

Settings → Audio retention (設定 → 音声の保存期間) manages audio. Even after the selected period, only audio that has already been transcribed is cleaned up; unprocessed audio and transcripts are kept. Manage and delete exported ZIPs and shared copies separately wherever you saved them.

Recording, transcription and AI processing take place on your iPhone. Conversations and chats are not sent to an external generative AI service. If you start a backup or sharing action and choose a cloud destination, the data is sent to that destination.Read the Privacy Policy ↗
