Getting Started with Hibi
Start with
a single voice.
A passing thought. An idea that just came to you.
Four steps to get you started.
Open Hibi.
Four introductory screens explain recording and transcription, search and reflection, and on-device processing. You can skip them and get started at your own pace.
No account is required. Apple Watch setup can wait until later, too.
Revisit the introduction from Getting Started with Hibi (Hibiのはじめかた) in Settings. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are also available at the bottom of the introduction.
Record a short thought.
- On the Record screen (記録), tap Start recording (録音を開始).
- Allow microphone access the first time you record.
- When you've finished speaking, save the recording.
You can pause, resume or add a marker at a moment you want to revisit. Start with a thought of your own or an idea from today.
Before recording a conversation with others, check with them first.
Recording and import helpYour voice becomes words.
Open a saved conversation to see its transcript, processed on your iPhone. Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese are detected automatically.
Listen to the original audio where needed and correct the transcript. If processing stalls, check the status and retry instructions on screen.
You may need to allow speech recognition or prepare OS language data. Hibi does not switch to recognition that sends your audio to an external AI.
Find a word. Look back.
Enter words you remember in Search (検索). Open a result to return to the statement where those words appeared.
In Reflect (振り返り), look back over a day or a week and organize what you'd like to do next. You can also start a chat by typing on days without a recording.
Check summaries and AI replies alongside the original statements or audio they reference.
Reflection and chat helpYour voice,
